For 50-odd years, Harvey Maisel has had a passionate love affair with the western United States and Canada. Having retired from teaching in the NYC school system and as a senior lab technician at Newsweek Magazine, he charted a new lifestyle by moving to Santa Fe, NM.

Here, he found an environment where hiking and photography are accessible on a daily basis. Inspired by the unique rock formations and divergent landscape, he has spent years traveling throughout the state, focusing more recently on the Navajo Lands in New Mexico.
